Tori’s art process dives into two worlds: contemporary illustration and traditional watercolour wildlife paintings.
She has worked on previous sculptures, featuring her Yoodles characters, which explore imagination and creative therapy. ‘KingFisher Azure’ is her pushing the boundaries with her artwork by featuring one of the most-loved British birds that she has captured in her paintings, on a larger-than-life scale.
Tori has been fascinated by wildlife all her life and finds herself zooming in on painting each detail that highlights the nature and essence of the chosen animal, to create a connection between the subject and viewer.

Blink and you may miss the fantastic kingfisher!
This beautiful bird is easy to recognise thanks to its bright blue and metallic copper colours. It darts along the riverbank or sits patiently on a low branch over the water waiting for its next meal to swim by.
The kingfisher is a colourful bird of rivers and streams. It can be spotted sitting quietly on low-hanging branches over the water, suddenly diving in to catch a small fish. Kingfishers live in burrow-like nests near lakes and other waterways, choosing a perfect spot for fishing!
The striking mix of its bright-blue back and metallic copper breast make the kingfisher unmistakable. Males have an entirely black bill, females have an orangey-red patch at the base.
The varied flora and fauna of Worcester’s riverside is perfect for kingfishers to thrive, we hope our resident birds enjoy their visiting penguin; Kingfisher Azure!
