This design represents both the animal and plant kingdoms, to signify to us the importance of all facets of nature in all her beauty. The golden highlights on the penguin represent to us how valuable all life on Earth is, and Precious hopes to inspire us to work together to keep the planet healthy.

Hilary Sanderson
A Norwich-based artist, Hilary uses a variety of media to create her fun pieces. She is experienced in working with children who have complex needs, so has seen first-hand the importance of art as a therapeutic tool to support people’s mental health. She gains her satisfaction from designing and creating original pieces that evoke a positive emotional response from the viewer. Hilary has been involved in several Wild in Art trails and enjoys designing work that will be appreciated and loved by a wide audience. Her work always appeals to children in particular.
Hilary often uses time-lapse photography to record her progress, which sometimes accidentally features her dogs Maggie and Maisie.

The Hive is one of Worcester’s more recent architectural additions. Whatever you might think of its aesthetics, it is undeniably one of our most important institutions.
Built at a cost of £60,000,000, The Hive represents a state-of-the-art facility where Worcester’s ancient archives can be cared for securely and researched.
The building also doubles as our public and university libraries, housing over a quarter of a million books. Home to the County Archaeological Department, you’ll find engaging exhibits and dynamic displays detailing the history of Worcester throughout.

In October 2024 all 40 large penguins and one chick will be auctioned to raise funds for the care provided by St Richard’s Hospice.
In 2021, 31 stunning elephant sculptures raised a mammoth £368,800 to support the care provided by St Richard’s Hospice across Worcestershire.
